May 2011 Liturgical Hike
Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
The Lord is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!
Signs of new life are all around now in Northern New Mexico - the photos above are from my own gardens this past week. The flower is a Wild Iris (which we did not plant) and the butterfly is a Yellow Swallowtail. The hummingbirds are back too, I noticed the first one on Monday of Holy Week before leaving to attend a clergy retreat at the new (to the diocese) Bosque Center in Albuquerque. As yet I have no photos of the hummingbirds.
We will hike again, liturgically, next Sunday - May 1st! We will meet in the St. Bede's parking lot at 9:00am and leave from there at 9:15am. So far it looks like it will be a beautiful day weather wise and I hope and pray for a nice spring day.
As always, please come prepared to hike with proper footwear, clothing, water and a hearty snack. Please follow this link ( http://www.americanhiking.org/Resources/How-Tos/ ) for the How-Tos of hiking from the American Hiking Society for important information, including the 10 Essentials of Hiking.
Easter Blessings,
Jon+
